Broken Links Fixed!

Broken Link

Hello everyone! My friend Valerie recently posted a great post with some WordPress tips. See here to check out her awesome post! One of those was to find your broken links. I had no idea if I had any broken links on my site so I decided to give it a shot. What a surprise to find that it said: Processed 1538 web pages, found 48 broken links! After trying to find and fix a few links I ran the check again and found I reduced the broken links to 24. Woo Hoo! Progress! Still not done though. I ran it a third time and got my broken links down to 6!! Big progress. I did one last round of clean up and ran the search to see if I got it all. I didn’t. I got it down to 4. Ok, Ok, Ok… So I’m a perfectionist at times and I worked at fixing or removing those last four. I promise this is the last attempt at it today! I ran it and here’s what it said: “Processed 1538 web pages, found 0 broken links

I finally got them all!! Woo Hoo! The most stubborn links I had to remove I finally found in the comments! Who would have thought? Well, I feel much better that my entire site is broken link free as of now. I’ll try to keep up on the broken links on a regular basis. Also, if you ever find a broken link, let me know please. πŸ˜‰

  1. Oh wow. Marie you should not have shown me this. I’m super OCD and know I will be here for the next 12 days with all the links on my page hahahahaha. I will def check this out but probably within the next few days so I can make sure I actually take a test that is due. Get me going fixing something and nothing is more important than that!! πŸ™‚ I totally get it! Good post!

      • Marie, I went on yesterday. Once you find all the missing links, I wasn’t sure what to do with them. It seemed pretty tedious to me, since I wasn’t sure what to do with each one. Do you just delete the highlighted section? πŸ™‚ Marsha πŸ™‚

      • If you are looking at the summary, it can give you a clue as to where the broken links are. Once you know exactly where it is, you can either delete it or replace the link with one that works. I didn’t use their feature pointing where it was since I couldn’t use that to edit anything.

      • They don’t have anything that will fix the links for you. But yes, they do partner with someone who will charge to fix them but I wouldn’t do that. For free, they will only show you where they are. If you click to the right of the link where it says “url”, it will take you to the page where that broken link is. Then you can find it and edit your page/post to either remove or fix the link.
