Beautiful Mama Blog Award x2

Beautiful Mama Blog Award

I’ve been nominated for the Beautiful Mama Blog Award again, twice! This time by Amanda at The Coers Family. and Victoria at Home Making With Heart I feel so blessed to have been nominated again, and by two different people. So, in order to accept this wonderful award(s) I need to do a few things. I get to tell you three things I love about motherhood and nominate some very deserving Mom’s to pass on the award. If you would like to view my acceptance post for the first time I got the award, you can find it here.

Three things I love about motherhood: (6 since this was a double nomination)

  1. I love cuddling in bed on lazy mornings with little man.
  2. I love being able to breastfeed little man. It’s created such a bond between us.
  3. I love watching my husband play with our son. I like playing too but seeing them together is awesome!
  4. I love being able to comfort my son when he is scared.
  5. I love it when my son is able to communicate with me using sign language.
  6. I love it when little man makes his “dad face”. It’s a facial expression that his dad did when he was a baby and I’ve never seen anyone else ever do it.

To accept the award, please do the following things:

  • Click the above award image, save it and use it in your acceptance post.
  • List 3 things you love about motherhood.
  • Nominate other deserving mamas; you may choose as many as you like. (And let them know of the nomination)

  1. Thanks, Marie! ❤ I didn't know you were doing signing with your son! Isn't it fun?! What resources have you used? Samuel has learned the most from a few Baby Einstein dvds as well as from us signing to him all the time. 🙂

    • So far I’ve been teaching little man some ASL myself. We haven’t had him watch any DVDs. I watched one to refresh my own memory of ASL. My great aunt is deaf and I learned a few signs from her when I was younger. I hope that my son can talk to her as he gets older.

  2. We used sign language with both of my kids and it was WONDERFUL!!!!!! I think they had almost 100 signs they could do before they began speaking full time. I just had a sign language book I kept on my kitchen counter, and as the kids would try to talk with me, I’d look up the word and teach it to them. It was so great! AND….congrats on your award!!!!!!

    • That’s incredible! I’m pretty sure he can understand many of the signs that I make but he still has very few that he can do himself. I’m looking forward to learning, and teaching, more signs. I can’t imagine knowing 100 signs. Do you continue to do some sign language with your kids?

      • Every now and then I’ll do a sign and realize they have forgotten so many. I want to incorporate them back into our communication. But it’s hard to remember to. I’m hoping the library will do another ASL class and then I can take the kids to really learn it. I just know a few words from the book!

      • It really is true that if you don’t use it, you loose it. I can only remember a few bits of French from my courses in high school. It is a shame to loose language we’ve learned. I do love it when our local libraries provide such great programs such as ASL.
