Ham and Cheese Baked Sandwiches
8 slices bread
1/2 lb. sliced ham
2 cups shredded sharp white Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 1/2 c milk
1 tsp dried mustard
1 1/2 tsp dried chives (1 Tbs fresh)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
- Pre-heat oven to 400°. Grease a 9×13 glass pan.
- Place 4 slices of bread in the bottom of the pan. Cover bread with ham and most of the cheese. Butter remaining slices of bread and place on top of your “sandwiches” butter side up.
- In a medium bowl, mix milk, eggs, mustard, chives, salt, and pepper. Pour mixture over bread and top with remaining cheese. Let sit 15 minutes.
- Bake 30 – 35 minutes, or until egg is set and bread has browned.
