French Toast with Plumb Pear Sauce
Ingredients:
8 Slices Dry Bread
Batter:
4 Eggs
1 c Milk
1 tsp Demerara Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
Topping:
4 Plumbs
1/2 Pear
Instructions:
Mix plumbs and pear in a blender. Then gently heat on the stove over low-medium heat. Let it simmer while you prepare the french toast. Preheat a griddle to 325-350°. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Dip the bread in the batter until fully saturated. If you are using very dry bread, 10 seconds will do. If the bread still has lots of give to it, then much less time. Place on the griddle and cook for 3 minutes on each side. Top with butter and plumb pear sauce.

I don’t know why but I’ve never thought of adding spices and vanilla to the eggs for French toast! Thanks for sharing!
My dad always did. He was the weekend breakfast expert. Thanks for stopping by.
Oooh, yummy. Isn’t a plum like a prune though? Maybe I am confusing my fruits. I’ll have to try this one.
Thanks for stopping by! Dried plums are called prunes but actual prunes come from certain varieties of plums. The Italian prune plumb tree its one of those varieties that is specifically to be dried and become prunes.
